Time to lighten up!
Painting the studio and gallery space from tan and earth tones to a nice white. Needed some more light during these darker winter days. I'm almost done with the project and loving it! Here are some progress pics from last week when I was naively thinking it was going to be a two-day job!

Ahhh, you should have me there, I can paint a room in a day, I get possessed. I have painted the rooms in every house we have lived in sooooo many times!A friend of mine teased me one time that my kitchen width must have lost several inches due to the layers of paint:)
holy cats your pieces are looking gorgeous :)
Hi Tracey! Yes, I could have used your help. OMG. It has been really fun, but really messy. I am not a tidy painter. Paint everywhere. ON the floor, on my clothes, on my glasses, in my hair...
Hi Gary! Thanks! Oh my... Your third pottery blog... You are a mad man. Must change my settings to get your new pottery "home" back on my radar! Doing it now...
Love white studio walls! I am a HORRIBLE painter! My dad owned a painting business for a few years -I was never asked to help! My dad and husband never ever bought me or let me use the really expensive good brushes either -I didn't treat them right. Disposables work for me just fine -ha!
wow what a lot of work, but worth it in the end, ceilings are the worst. I have painted too many places I even have a favorite paint stool which an old wood kitchen one that is just the right height for a can of paint to rest on so I don't have to bend over each time to dip the brush. Walls are easy, try painting over stucco, it takes forever to cover all the indentations. Have fun.
looking super, nothing worse than a dark studio...your work will bounce in the new light,..
great idea... if i only had drywall up on the walls of my studio, i could take on the same project
Patty! It's your step-sis, Shan. I am so excited to see you continuing your art in such a tangible, beautiful medium. We head to Plaskett Ridge tons of times throughout the year to stay at the cabin and would love to stop by and visit you and Mike. Now that both girls are in college the cabin has become my 'project'. (Hence, poor Tim-the-contractor's unsolicited 'project' as well.) I'm desparately attempting to make it sound like a fun hobby for him...with marginal success. Lucky he's got a good sense of humor-it's saved us many times over. With love to both of you. Shannon.
Hi Shannon! Hey - We'd love to see you guys! Let's arrange it!... The Plaskett Ridge place is so beautiful. I'm glad that you're maintaining it. Looking forward to seeing you! A couple of days ago, I sent you guys a Christmas greeting with all our numbers and addresses... Did you get it?
