kaboom in the kiln

Well, I knew better. I really did.

I even told the hubster... "Ya know, I probably should give those big bowls more drying time. Or, at least, fire really slowly..." But, no, I decided to throw caution to the wind... because I was in a hurry to get through the bisque firing... because these kiln mishaps happen to OTHER people... not to me! Ha!
Oh well.

As you can imagine, I spent the next day throwing more big bowls, which are now SLOWLY drying under plastic.

Patience is a virtue that is being pounded into me.

a sound that digs down to the core when it goes off.
Slow is better- and yet, we all do it!
We will preheat 3 hours one day and fire the next day, just to get it that drying time.

Oh Patricia, not you too?! (These words were said to me the other day by Matt Grimmitt!) We all live the same life don't we? Welcome to my hell haha!
I'm sorry about your explosion but you are in great company, been right there with ya! Patience grasshopper :)

Oh I'm so sorry! ...I don't do slow or even moderate -it will be my downfall in clay.

sorry to read about that... it's one of those things where you wish you just go back in time a little and change one decision.

I hope other stuff didn't get damaged too, what a bummer.
