Making, making, making

Been busy!

I am continuing the development of a series featuring etched line drawings of endangered plants on the Central Coast of California. Am donating 25% of sales back to a preservation group that plants trees, cleans trails and other activities that help maintain this beautiful part of the country I get to call "home."

The pieces in the series have tags that explain the donation. They've been great conversation-starters. I also have brochures about the preservation area, as well as trail maps.

Recent pieces from the last kiln load.

Yours truly on the public "open space" land near our home. You can see why this place is so special. The trail leads through the pine forest in the background.

Turning the other way, you look down the hills toward the ocean.
Here's the view, including the man of my dreams, my hubster, Mike.

The "Friends of the Ranch," which is the organization I'm donating to, help to maintain the trails, plant pine seedlings, give docent talks and generally look after things on this open land.

  1. OH MY! And I thought we lived in a nice spot.
We went to CA. when our son was out there and loved it.
We drove the coast and we were amazed at the beauty.
What you are doing is such a great thing.
You too are giving back to your community.
Thanks PG for helping to keep something alive for another generation to enjoy.
The pots are really developing strength to them.

  3. Great photos of you and hubby and your pots are so wonderful. Now that Gary is finished with work, I had hoped to get out there end of this week and now tons of rain and flooding is predicted, perhaps there'll be a break in the storm for us to get there. I love the Cambria area, it truly is special place.

  6. You do live in a beautiful spot. I would have loved to see California before it became so populated -- no place quite like it. I can see how your environment inspires your work -- wonderful!
